Cancellation Notice

August 6, 2002

To all National Conference Applicants:

It is with deep regret that I must inform you that there will be no National Conference for 2002.  I have been informed that Muncie did not even get close to the required 125 applicants to put on the conference.

I would like to be able to assign a specific reason for our inability to bring off a conference for this year, but I think there were several things working against us.  Things like:  we got a late start trying to put it together, everybody’s budgets were already set, the economy took a nose dive, etc…but it certainly wasn’t for lack of trying.  As a matter of fact, I would like to publicly commend our site selection committee, Sgt. Dave Kundrot of Lombard, IL. and Jim Ponzini of the Little Rock, AK Alumni for their tremendous efforts and the many hours they put in trying to get a conference together for this year.  And, I guess this would be a good time to mention that in their spare time, they managed to put together a conference for the spring of 2003.  Dave and Jim have put together a great conference for next year with a lot of extra things going on.  It should really make up for this year, and there will be applications, dates, times, locations here on the website within a week or two.

For those of you who had sent in checks with your applications, Sgt. Brown of the Muncie, IN. Police Department will be sending them back to you.

One final and important note.  We still must hold elections for positions on the Board of Directors who’s terms are coming to an end.  We will have to do it by mail and all members in good standing will be getting a letter within the month explaining how the process with work.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Michael Koster
President, NCPAA
